ABOUT ME

About me

I trained at London College of Fashion in Hairdressing in 1997. I then went on to have a hairdressing career before coming into make-up, studying at the acclaimed Greasepaint School of Hair and Make-Up for Film and TV.

Shortly after graduating I went to work in the West End as a wig technician for Andrew Lloyd-Webber for a year on Bombay Dreams his musical. I started my TV career in 2001 On Redcap and never looked back!

I love what I do…

Over the years I have grown in experience and took time to work in the wig room at the opera house from 2006 – 2012 covering many operas and ballets hair and make up repertoires. I was given my own shows to design and tour with in the Linbury studio while still doing my regular TV & Film work.

In 2012 I went to live and work in Morocco for a year keying the hair for a long series and film “the bible” and “son of god“ With a South African designer I loved working with this team so much that I went to work in South Africa in 2013 to broaden my skills and experienced keying hair on many American productions.

I spent time working my way up to design so I could fully understand the process and importance of every team player and skill required.

Something I noticed over the years was the need to have a balanced environment for my collegues and Actors to feel happy and creatively thrive in while still getting the workload done efficiently. Along with my creative passion this propelled me to want to design and set the tone by helping to shape healthy environments.

I now love running a team and a budget in an organised manner while collaborating with my artists and directors to find the looks to best tell the story to Camera.

20 years of experience in Film & TV

I have 20 years of experience in Film & TV to bring to a project. Due to my skill-set I am able to stick to budgets and create in-house for various looks.

I love creating make up, prosthetics, dirt and blood effects to tell the story and support a vision. I particularly love period pieces with lots of wigs, and re-creating this time frame.

I am often called to help create an actor to look natural and seamless for a show that requires a wig to set them into a period or if they don’t have the correct hair for the project.

Recently I was called to re-create Joey Kings hair for the film Kissing Booth 2/3 for Netflix. Joey had to shave her hair off for an earlier project and we needed to return her to her character Elle Evans with long natural hair.

I have been very lucky to work with some of the worlds most acclaimed actors wigging and making them up for camera.

I love what I do and the people I meet along the way. I never stop learning and feeling excited about what is possible to achieve on a project.
